Penn State Financial: Getting Started with Processing Electronic Forms Using IBIS

This hands-on workshop is designed for first-time users of Penn State’s Integrated Business Information Systems (IBIS) and will provide an overview of the system. The session also provides helpful information for more “seasoned” users who have had no formal training on processing forms. This session will explore IBIS financial concepts, such as sub-accounting, posting, and reporting.

Objectives:

  • Log in to IBIS
  • Navigate a variety of IBIS forms
  • Create electronic forms (SRFC, IDCC, ROCR)
  • Browse and retrieve forms
  • Resolve transaction details into Financial Account Numbers (FANS)
  • Use available online documentation

Prerequisite(s): IBIS access is required and an assigned Secure-ID token must be brought to the session to participate.

Penn State Financial: Getting Started with Using IBIS on the Mainframe (CCOM)

This hands-on workshop provides participants with a general, conceptual overview of the IBIS Financial System on the mainframe, or CCOM. This session will explore IBIS financial concepts, such as sub-accounting, posting, and reporting.

Objectives:

  • Identify sub-accounting concepts, including cost centers and sub-objects
  • Create, Maintain, and End cost centers (UCCA)
  • Set Overdraft controls (UDOD)
  • Encumber financial transactions to University accounts (UENC)
  • Maintain encumbrances and tiebacks (UENC)
  • Resolve FANS on forms and batch details (CRFN)
  • Update Department Free Space and Description (UDFS)
  • View transaction details (budget/income/expense) on University accounts
  • Utilize mainframe reporting (ICAG, ISTR, BEAD)
  • Redistribute funds among cost centers (RACC, RECC, RBCC)
  • Display and correct posting errors (BCDE)

Prerequisite(s): IBIS access is required and an assigned Secure-ID token must be brought to the session to participate; Penn State Financial: Intro to IBIS Electronic Forms Processing (IBIS) or equivalent knowledge and skills in processing EASY electronic forms.

Penn State Financial: Getting Started with Using the Financial Information Tool (FIT)

This hands-on workshop provides participants with a general introduction to the IBIS Financial Information Tool, a financial reporting tool.

Objectives:

  • Use standard FIT reports
  • Create and customize reports on an account or cost center
  • Review financial details on an account or cost center
  • Export financial details or reports
  • Drill down to the form that created the financial details

Prerequisite(s): IBIS access is required; however, an assigned Secure-ID token is not needed to participate in the session; Penn State Financial: Intro to IBIS Electronic Forms Processing (IBIS) and Penn State Financial: IBIS Financial on the Mainframe (CCOM) or equivalent knowledge and skills in processing EASY electronic forms and using mainframe reporting functions in IBIS financial.

iTwo: Advancing Your Skills

Want to explore more advanced options for analyzing and manipulating your data in iTwo? This 2-day, hands-on, in-depth training session builds upon the topics presented in “iTwo: Getting Started with Data Analysis.” You’ll dive deeper into the options available in iTwo, developing more complex queries while building upon the skills you gained in the introductory training.

Self-Study Option

A self-study alternative to the face-to-face training is also available. This allows you to study the materials on your own and then take a 10 question online assessment to test-out of the training. Completing this assessment serves as the equivalent of completing this face-to-face session. This is an excellent option if you are looking to receive training and access to iTwo right away, or if you prefer to go over the materials on your own, at your own pace. Please refer to the assessment and corresponding instructions.

iTwo: Advancing Your Skills Assessment

Completing this online assessment serves as the equivalent of attending the face-to-face iTwo: Advancing Your Skills training session. If you successfully pass this test, you do not have to take the face-to-face training. There are 10 questions, and you must achieve a 70% in order to pass. You may attempt the test as many times as you would like, and there is no time limit.
