In addition to online training sessions and documentation, IT Learning and Development (ITLD) offers two different ways to receive personalized technology support via the Tech Tutors and Tech Teaching Assistants (TAs).

Tech Tutors

Penn State students provide 1-1 training and troubleshooting for technology tools like:

  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Canvas
  • G Suite for Education
  • Office 365
  • Sites at Penn State
  • Zoom

Available to all Penn State students, faculty, and staff via Zoom by appointment or drop-in from 8am-8pm, Monday through Friday.

Tech TAs

Penn State students provide 1-1 support to prepare for and host synchronous class meetings via Zoom.

  • Duties can include:
    • enabling security and privacy settings
    • audio/video troubleshooting
    • muting/unmuting students
    • moderating chat,
    • setting up and administering polls, etc.

Available to faculty throughout the Summer 2020 semester by completing this Tech TA faculty request form.

  • Upon submission, an email will be sent that introduces the instructor and the Tech TA. After the intro email, the TA will follow up directly to assess specific needs and determine next steps.
