This hands-on session will focus on the Sites at Penn State tool, a blogging and website platform powered by WordPress. Emphasis will be placed on getting started with the Sites at Penn State tool in order to create a personal or course blog, department, event, or course website, or an ePortfolio. Discussion of best practices for managing text, posts,pages, media, and themes while exercising best practices in site design will take place.

Objectives:

  • Explore the Sites at Penn State interface
  • Manage content including text, files, links, images, and video
  • Create additional site pages for content such as contact information, information about the site owner, or a resume
  • Customize a site using themes, plug-ins, widgets, and custom menus
