About us
AI Guides play a vital role in supporting Penn State faculty and staff in their exploration and adoption of Microsoft Copilot, a generative AI-powered assistant designed to increase productivity, streamline workflows, and foster innovation.
Each AI Guide is a Penn State student who’s been trained in the use of generative AI and is equipped to support you as you learn how to use this powerful tool.

Consultations are available both in-person and via Zoom. Consultations will be scheduled during regular business hours (8:00am–5:00pm, Monday–Friday) depending on the AI Guide’s availability.
Please Note: The AI Guides program is currently in its pilot phase and is only open to pilot members at this time. Once the pilot phase is complete, this service will be open to all Penn State staff and faculty.

Please note: AI Guides are intended to support you as you learn to use AI; they are not intended to complete AI projects on your behalf. The AI Guides program is designed to orient users with beginning and intermediate skills with Microsoft Copilot, but may not be able to support advanced or complex tasks.

Introduction to Microsoft Copilot Course
A self-paced course that will introduce you to Microsoft Copilot. In this course, you will discover how to access and use Copilot, explore sample use cases, learn how to create meaningful prompts, and consider ethical issues surrounding generative AI.
Microsoft Copilot Learning Path
A collection of Penn State-specific guides and resources that will further your knowledge of using Copilot effectively. This learning path provides introductory resources for Copilot, as well as additional study materials to deepen your knowledge of AI use in higher education.
Penn State AI Hub
The University’s central website for AI. This hub offers general guidance on AI usage, FAQs, and news articles. It also contains Penn State’s established guidelines and policies for ethical and secure use of generative AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot.
